"The Lord has brought you into a land flowing with milk and honey, alleluia, alleluia: that the law of the Lord may be ever in your mouth, alleluia, alleluia!" - the Introit for Easter Monday.

"More to be desired are your words, O Lord, than gold, even much fine gold;
sweeter also than honey and drippings of the honeycomb" - Psalm 119:10.

"My son, eat honey, for it is good, and the drippings of the honeycomb are sweet to your taste.
Know that wisdom is such to your soul; if you find it, there will be a future, and your hope will not be cut off" - Proverbs 24:13f.

  2. Absolutely wonderful!!

    Why isn't Br Robert wearing a chef's hat - Health and Safety; food hygiene regulations?

    Fudge looks really delicious, too.

    Good luck with the fair and I'm glad to see that Br. Ursus is a south paw just like me!

  3. I hope you've locked the supplies away- bears are very devious when it comes to scavenging, and that Br Ursus looked decidedly shifty to me.

  6. Anonymous;
    you malign poor fr Ursus : he is a bear of great integrity,and I know from personal experience that he can be trusted never to take anything which doesn't belong to him . . .

    Love these pictures of Brother Ursus. Who could not be cheered by them? More power to your elbow, and honey to your paw. As a Carmelite myself, I appreciate the profound wisdom of bears, and am glad the Dominicans share that charism.

  9. I ate a whole bag of Br. Ursus' fudge and it was divine. Nothing like a bear to know the subtle touches in cooking with honey.
