I didn’t use to have a particularly strong devotion to Our Lady, but praying the Rosary has really helped me get to know her and to love her. She is our mother who is always inviting us to meet her Son. It doesn’t matter that I’ve never prayed a Hail Mary perfectly, because her prayers are perfect and she carries on praying for us even when our prayers stop.
Thank you so much for this. Your post really spoke to me, and showed again how powerful the rosary is. From finding it boring and repetitive as a teenage, I have come to love the rosary, too.
ReplyDeleteOne thing I find particularly heartening is that it is a prayer that all types of people and conditions of people can pray. It really is a prayer that unites all catholics. As a teenager, I used to sneer at the old ladies saying their rosaries. I hope I have learned better, now. It links us with catholics through the ages, it links all ages. Our Lady takes the imperfect mumblings and half-asleep yearnings and uses these to help us along the path to the Lord.
